Successful Rosacea Treatment With Generic MetroGel

Generic MetroGel works just the same as branded MetroGel. It is a great rosacea treatment and one that many rosacea sufferers have had success with. Because rosacea is such a variable disease with no cure, patients generally have to try multiple treatments before realizing which, if any, work for them. I found that after several years of searching for an answer, MetroGel was the best treatment that I had tried for rosacea thus far.
Side Effects of Generic MetroGel
Note that there can be side effects of MetroGel, however this is to be expected with any rosacea treatment due to the fact that rosacea skin is so sensitive. Side effects that may occasionally be experienced with the use of Metrogel include burning, skin irritation, dryness, transient redness, metallic taste, tingling or numbness of extremities and nausea. Take note that most of these issues are very rare and many people experience no side effects to Metrogel whatsoever.
Generic Metrogel may be found under such names as Metrolotion and Metrocream as well as the branded Metrogel. Metrogel works to assist the skin in the reduction of inflammatory lesions and the tell tale redness which is associated with all levels of rosacea.
Cleansing
The makers of Metrogel themselves recommend using the gentle Cetaphil cleanser on your skin to cleanse and they have even produced a kit which you can purchase that contains both Metrogel and Cetaphil together, cementing the fact that Cetaphil is the one and only cleanser that rosacea sufferers should use due to the fact that it is exrtemely gentle on the skin compared to abrasive cleansers.
The active ingredient of generic Metrogel, Metronidazole, is actually used to treat infections by protozoa and bacteria. Because Metrogel can also control inflammation, it is useful in the treatment of rosacea where patients may suffer from:
- Facial inflammation
- Redness
- Spider Veins
- Acne like eruptions
- Flushing
Is it possible that my rosacea may get worse after using generic Metrogel?
In some very rare cases the rosacea of some people has worsened after using Metrogel, purely because their skin is overly sensitive the one or more of the ingredients. This is to be expected in some cases as rosacea skin is highly reactive. Metrogel is made as carefully as possible to ensure it is gentle and non reactive on the majority of rosacea skin. If your rosacea does worsen with the use of Metrogel, simply stop using it and you will return to normal. The risk of this happening is minimal compared to the potential benefits you can reap from this fantastic rosacea treatment product.
Rosacea is a debilitating disease but thankfully generic MetroGel provides hope to those who have not had success with any past treatment options.
